AVID

AVID is a college prep class offered in grades 7-12 at all secondary Bismarck Public Schools

The class has many different goals:

1. Students will learn organization skills to help them keep up with the rigors of high school and college
   
2. Students will learn to read, write, and think/question like a college- student
   
3. Students will enhance their leadership abilities through small group work and community service
   
4. Students will participate in a variety of college campus visits (2-3 per year) so they can see what college life is like; we also have guest speakers monthly, ranging from people in a variety of careers to college students and professors to motivational speakers
